Our client is a leading blockchain financial services company that specializes in building solutions and products for the Web3 space. Our mission is to create the digital economy of tomorrow. Our ecosystem comprises regulated broker dealers, a digital assets custodian, a wallet, a consultancy, and a venture studio. As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a Compliance Expert with VASP Crypto and Blockchain experience to join our team.

As a Compliance Expert with VASP Crypto and Blockchain experience, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our company operates in full compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and controls related to virtual asset service providers (VASPs), cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology. Your expertise and guidance will help us maintain regulatory compliance and foster trust among our clients and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of applicable regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to VASP compliance, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology.
  • Design, implement, and oversee compliance policies, procedures, and controls specifically tailored to VASP operations within the digital asset industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance requirements are met throughout our ecosystem, including regulated broker dealers, digital assets custodian, wallet, consultancy, and venture studio.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Keep abreast of evolving regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging compliance issues within the crypto and blockchain space, and proactively adjust our compliance framework accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters, including VASP compliance, AML/KYC procedures, data privacy, and information security.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and business partners, to stay informed about compliance requirements and industry best practices.
  • Assist in regulatory filings and reporting obligations related to VASP operations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Support internal and external audits, examinations, and investigations related to compliance matters.
  • Stay informed about developments in the broader financial services industry and adapt compliance practices to align with evolving regulatory landscapes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications in compliance, AML, or blockchain/crypto-related disciplines would be a plus.
  • Proven experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, with a focus on VASPs, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology.
  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines, such as FATF’s Recommendations, FinCEN’s guidance, and jurisdiction-specific requirements for VASPs.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/KYC procedures, transaction monitoring, and risk assessment frameworks within the digital asset industry.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology, smart contracts, decentralized finance (DeFi), and emerging Web3 concepts.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to practical compliance solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with regulators, auditors, and legal counsel on compliance matters.
  • Passion for the blockchain and crypto industry, with a keen interest in contributing to the digital economy of the future.
