To lead this ambitious venture, we are seeking a skilled and experienced General Manager Australia with a comprehensive skill set.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive GTM plan for our client’s exchange in Australia, in collaboration with the executive management team.
- Define our client’s value proposition and positioning within the Australian market in coordination with senior stakeholders.
- Lead the application process for obtaining necessary regulatory approvals, including a derivatives license, in compliance with Australian regulatory frameworks.
- Stay updated on evolving cryptocurrency regulations and ensure ongoing adherence to relevant laws.
Operations and Team Management:
- Build and manage a high-performing team across various functions, including customer support and marketing.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth trading execution and an optimal customer experience while upholding our client’s unique security protocols.
Partnerships and Business Development:
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including KOLs, market makers, and financial institutions, to support the exchange’s growth and expansion.
- Implement risk management strategies to safeguard our client from potential threats, including cybersecurity risks and market volatility, in collaboration with our client’s chief legal officer and chief compliance officer.
- Provide input to our client’s global budget and manage the budget for Australian operations, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
- Monitor financial performance and take corrective actions as needed to achieve business goals.
- Act as our client’s representative to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and administering derivative product offerings.
- Experience within a business issuing derivatives, including supervising AFSL compliance and acting as a responsible manager.
- Experience in managing teams involved in the delivery of such products.
- A sound comprehension of the global market for the types of derivative products our client will offer.
- Experience in dealing in derivatives (including as a trader or portfolio manager).
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a collaborative and motivational approach.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building relationships with external stakeholders and regulators.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed decisions in a fast-paced and evolving industry.
